Culture
Divergence's culture is mission-driven and based on excellence in science. As a small company,
each member of our team has the opportunity to contribute directly to our success in bringing
products for higher yielding agriculture and healthier people and animals to market. As a young
company at the forefront of applied informatics and functional genomics, we rapidly integrate
newly emerging technologies and discoveries into our research approaches. Opportunities for
leadership and career advancement exist throughout the organization. For example, all full-time
employees hold stock options in the Company, all technical staff regularly present at company-wide
lab meetings and journal clubs, and attendance of scientific conferences is encouraged. The
majority of Divergence's Ph.D.-level scientists have served as principle investigators on major
grants, have had direct responsibility for collaborations or research performed by contract
research organizations, are inventors on Divergence patents or patent applications, and have
co-authored peer-reviewed papers while at the Company. In evaluating employees, Divergence values
evidence of accountability and work ethic, teamwork and respect for co-workers, technical expertise,
integrity, effective communications, leadership, positive attitude, and ability to deal with change.
Divergence offers competitive salaries and benefits including incentive-based compensation.
Facilities
Divergence is located in the Bio-Research &
Development Growth (BRDG) Park. Designed to help plant and life sciences companies "bridge" research,
resources and relationships to achieve commercial success, the BRDG-Park development ultimately will
encompass 400,000 square feet of space on the Danforth Center campus in suburban St. Louis County.
The first building opened in 2009 with Divergence as a major tenant. The Company's greenhouse
facilities are leased from the neighboring Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, a leading
independent research center for plant biology where Divergence also utilizes core labs in
advanced proteomics/mass spec
and microscopy.
